The Olympic Spirit Lives On
And you can see it every day.
For
the 2002 Winter Games 26 of the 78 total events were held in Park City. Of those, 14 were held at the Utah Olympic Park including, Bobsled, Luge, Skeleton, Nordic Combined, and Ski Jumping.
Today Utah Olympic Park remains the premier training ground for winter athletes,
but that training occurs year round. You don’t have to be an Olympic caliber
athlete to enjoy the facilities as a spectator or a participant. Utah Olympic
Park is only a couple of miles from Hyatt Escala Lodge, so it is easy to wander
over for one of the myriad of events that take place summer and winter. And after
you’ve watched a bobsled go thundering past, or been amazed as aerialists take to the ramp for triple twisting flips, if you’re so inclined, you can hop in
a sled, or strap on some skis and see what it is like for yourself.
